Job summary

Job description

The Institute is seeking a Program Officer to support its speaker engagement and sponsorship initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Development and Member relations, the Program Officer will contribute to the growth of the Institutes events and programs by identifying and securing high-profile speakers and building a strong pipeline of event sponsors.

You will

  • Build speakers pipeline for approximately 35 events a year
  • Secure sponsors for 35 events a year within approximately 30 days prior to the event
  • Create annual event plan for approximately 35 events a year
  • Ensure well-communicated and well-attended events

The Candidate

Must-haves

  • University degree
  • 1 3 years related experience
  • Business development or sales experience in-person or over the phone
  • Prospecting to identify potential speakers / sponsors based on industry needs is critical
  • Business sense
  • Engaging communicator who is able to build rapport
  • Interest in and understanding of Canadian public policy
  • Organized, diligent, and proactive team player
