Job summary

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ontario is seeking a Program Manager, HSJCC & Justice in Toronto, Ontario. This is a 1-year, temporary funded contract reporting to the Director, HSJCC & Justice.

The role provides strategic guidance and program management across the provincial HSJCC portfolio and partners with ministries and CMHA branches to advance justice initiatives. The ideal candidate has a graduate degree and 3-5 years in health or criminal justice settings, with strong

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in public policy or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in health and/or criminal justice sectors.
• Knowledge of Ontario’s mental health and criminal justice systems, housing, homelessness, income, and employment.
• Familiarity with health equity and social determinants of health.
• Experience in multi-sectoral partnerships with NGOs and government agencies.
• Experience managing projects and budgets within timelines.
• Familiarity with the Criminal Code of Canada and Youth Criminal Justice Act is an asset.
• Community sector work experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide program management and guidance to the HSJCC Secretariat team.
• Build relationships with provincial Ministries and prepare regular updates.
• Develop proposals, business cases, and project charters.
• Manage workplans, budgets, and achievement of program goals.
• Submit regular activity and financial reports to the Director and the P-HSJCC.
• Support CMHA staff to promote justice programming and HSJCC engagement.
• Strengthen partnerships across human services, health and justice sectors.
• Participate in policy and knowledge exchange events to promote the HSJCC.
• Position HSJCC within Ontario to advance system change for complex needs in justice.
• Support health equity initiatives for the HSJCC.
