ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Program Integrity and Education, this role involves planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating staff learning and professional development initiatives within the department to support strategic goals and meet legislative requirements. The role leads staff training programs, develops departmental policies, and manages the creation and maintenance of learning materials in various formats.

CORPORATE HR GOVERNANCE

The department collaborates with Corporate HR to support regional human resources initiatives, including learning and development programs, ensuring alignment with the region's HR strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure departmental education programs comply with legislation, regulations, and policies.
  • Research, design, and deliver training for departmental staff and external agencies, including management development and orientation programs.
  • Develop and implement departmental training policies and practices.
  • Monitor program budgets, prepare financial reports, and ensure expenditures meet standards.
  • Supervise staff recruitment, performance management, and safety compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Adult Education, Social Science, Health Science, Human Services, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Postgraduate certificate or coursework in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related area.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in adult facilitation and learning program development, preferably in community services, with supervisory experience.
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in instructional design, multimedia platforms, and project management.
