Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily operations of licensed childcare programs, ensuring compliance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and Health and Safety standards.
- Collaborates with leadership and staff to ensure safe, high-quality programming that aligns with the BC Early Learning Framework (ELF).
- Supports curriculum development, facilitates family engagement, and encourages educator professional development.
- Manages human resources, including recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, supervision, and staff scheduling. Supports professional development initiatives.
- Ensures adherence to VSOCC policies and procedures, escalating concerns as needed.
- Maintains high-quality indoor and outdoor environments meeting health and safety standards, reports repairs and improvements.
- Works with the Program Director to develop and monitor budgets, program finances, records, reports, and procurement.
- Maintains respectful, confidential communication with families, addresses concerns, advocates for children and families, and supports family participation and events.
- Builds positive relationships with community agencies, promotes VSOCC programs, and connects participants and staff to resources. Acts as a management team member overseeing program administration, policy development, agency initiatives, collective agreement matters, strategic planning, and other duties.
