Job summary

Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc is seeking a Program Manager for the Child and Youth Care Certificate Program at 650 Burrows Avenue in Winnipeg. Position: Program Manager, Child and Youth Care Certificate

Salary: $60,000.00 Annually

Classification: Full Time, 80 hours bi-weekly

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM | This position will also be part of an on-call rotation outside of these days/ hours

Program/ Location: 650 Burrows Avenue

Reports To: Director of Programs and Services

General Responsibility:

The Program Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Ndinawe Child and Youth Care Certificate Program, coordinating relationships with partner organizations, advisory committees, and program participants. The Program Manager is responsible for coordinating work placements, monitoring and supporting a positive work and learning environment, and ensuring program delivery as outlined in the project description. The Program Manager assumes all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s philosophy, direction, and policy standards.

About the Program:

Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad (Ndinawe) is pleased to offer an accredited training program for people who have experienced sexual exploitation. This is a full-time twelve-month program. In partnership with Red River College, the Ndinawe Child and Youth Care Certificate Program (NCYCCP) offers education and practical experience in the field of Child and Youth Care that counts toward the first year of a two-year diploma program.

To promote the best opportunity for success, NCYCCP has developed a strong and diverse team to work with, and to support participants in their educational pursuits. Our team consists of qualified Red River College instructors, an Educational Assistant, a Resource Coordinator, and Knowledge Keeper. The program staff works collaboratively to ensure a holistic approach to the learning experience for program participants.

Specific Accountability:

• Manage the day-to-day needs of program staff and program delivery.
• Serves as a principal liaison between students, instructors, Educational Assistant, Resource Coordinator, Knowledge Keeper, EIA case workers and/or external constituencies on a day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative issues.
• Facilitates workshops, meetings, and special projects.
• Monitors program revenues and expenses for cost effectiveness of program.
• Identifies potential issues and provides feedback on program progression.
• Responsible for statistical and narrative reporting within timeframes and deadlines of board of directors, partners, and funding bodies.
• Maintains a working relationship with program partners.
• Promotes access to employment opportunities and resources for participants.
• Promotes the program to new participants.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the issues and context of persons with lived experience, including risk factors and threats, support services and systems, programs, and culture.
• Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
• Charts and tracks progress of participants.
• Adopts a systemic advocacy role for participants.
• Writes grants and/or proposals appropriate to the objects and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities.
• Acts as representative of Ndinawe.
• Performs other duties consistent with job description and approved Ndinawe services, and personal policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Education in relevant humanities/social development field with a focus on child and youth care.
• Employment history, volunteer work and life experience appropriate for project development, training development and written communication.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
• Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
• Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
• Record maintenance skills.
• Ability to interact with students and staff in a team environment.
• Awareness of community resources and contacts.
• Current Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check required.
