Overview

JABC is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and relationship-focused Program Manager to lead the successful coordination and delivery of an assigned portfolio of educational programs and initiatives.

Our preference is for the successful candidate to reside in Kelowna or Prince George, however, candidates based elsewhere in the province will also be considered. The role will support program delivery and relationship development in the area local to the successful candidate, while contributing to JABC programs across British Columbia as needed.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programs, the Program Manager is responsible for the operational success of the programs within their portfolio, including achieving annual program goals, managing educator and volunteer relationships, coordinating program delivery and logistics, supporting community engagement, maintaining accurate program data, and ensuring educators, volunteers, partners, and students receive an exceptional experience.

The Program Manager works closely with educators, volunteers, school districts, community partners, and internal JABC teams to identify opportunities, strengthen engagement, and ensure programs are delivered effectively across British Columbia. The role may also lead or support virtual and in-person events, workshops, competitions, and other special initiatives connected to their program portfolio.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programs, your key responsibilities include:

Program Management & Delivery
  • Meet the goals confirmed each year for the programs in the portfolio, including overall program numbers, deliveries with particular segments, including underserved schools and communities, and other goals as confirmed with the Senior Manager, Programs.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning for assigned programs, including the development of prospective program opportunities within school districts and with community partners.
  • Manage program registrations and coordinate scheduling, logistics, materials, resources, and communications required for successful delivery.
  • Manage educator relationships throughout the program cycle, from registration and preparation through delivery and follow-up.
  • Ensure educators and classrooms are appropriately prepared and resourced for each program.
  • Monitor program progress throughout the year and proactively address gaps, challenges, or emerging opportunities.
  • Attend virtual and in-person program deliveries, meetings, and events as required to provide support and ensure a positive participant experience.
  • Coordinate with venues, caterers, audio-visual providers, and other third parties when external logistical support is required.
  • Promote relevant JABC awards, scholarships, programs, and additional opportunities to eligible students, youth, and educators.
  • Collect and respond to feedback from educators, volunteers, students, and partners to support continuous program improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, schools, school districts, and community partners to support program participation and retention.
  • Conduct outreach to new, returning, and lapsed educators, identifying opportunities to expand JABC programming into new schools and communities, including underserved and equity-deserving communities.
  • Support educators throughout the program experience, respond to inquiries, and encourage continued participation and engagement in additional JABC programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on educator communications, outreach campaigns, and program promotion initiatives.
  • Identify volunteer needs early enough to support successful recruitment, placement, and program delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with the Community Engagement team to identify and engage volunteers for program opportunities.
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments and ensure appropriate coverage for program deliveries.
  • Deliver volunteer orientations and training sessions, ensuring facilitators are prepared, informed, and equipped for successful delivery.
  • Maintain regular communication and build positive relationships with volunteers before, during, and following program delivery to support retention and continued engagement.
  • Support volunteer stewardship in collaboration with the Community Engagement team.
Data Management, Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, schedules, registrations, volunteer information, and reporting data within Salesforce, OneDrive, and other organizational systems.
  • Ensure program information and documentation are entered accurately and within established timelines.
  • Manage the collection of impact data, student feedback, and success stories for reporting and storytelling purposes.
  • Track and maintain consent forms and photo/video release documentation when required.
  • Support the preparation of program reports in collaboration with the Development and Events, Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Manage the preparation of materials and logistics for meetings, recognition events, community presentations, and other program-related activities.
  • Respond to incoming inquiries related to assigned programs and volunteer opportunities.
