Job summary

Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc (Ndinawe) in Winnipeg is seeking a Program Facilitator Arts & Recreation to support youth programs at multiple sites. The role runs Sunday to Thursday, 1:00 PM–9:00 PM, for a 10-month term, with salary of CAD 21.93 per hour.

The position reports to the Manager of Specialized Services and requires a valid Class 5 license, CPR/First Aid Level C, and relevant education or experience in humanities or social development. Open until filled.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Level C - CPR/1st Aid.
  • Education in relevant humanities/social development field or a combination of education, employment experience, personal experience and/or volunteer work.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated reliability in time management.
  • Ability to establish relationships with youth and act as a mentor.
  • Experience working with Indigenous people and an understanding of Indigenous culture and spirituality.
  • Proven capacity to plan and implement programming.
  • Positive, respectful and flexible in times of crisis.
  • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate youth skill development through curriculum facilitation and hands-on learning.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with resources and services.
  • Build positive relationships with youth based on trust and confidentiality.
  • Provide supervision and support to youth for safety and respect.
  • Respond to crisis or emergent situations as required.
  • Document interactions and incident reports as required.
  • Maintain program statistics and complete reports and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Ndinawe programming staff to meet youth needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in staff development.
  • Maintain workspaces and help with building cleanup daily.

Position: ProgramFacilitator Arts & Recreation

Salary: $21.93 per Hour

Location: 472 SelkirkAve

Classification: Full Time, 10 month term.

TheProgram Facilitator assists in the planning andimplementation of youth programs and services across all sites. TheProgram Facilitator assumes allduties andresponsibilities in accordancewith Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc.'s (Ndinawe)philosophy,direction,and policystandards.

GeneralResponsibility:

  • Facilitating the skill development of youth throughcurriculum facilitation, role modeling, and actively engaging them inhands on learning.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships withresources and serviceswhichsupport the goals of the program.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships withyouth based on trust,respect,and confidentiality.
  • Provide supervision and support to youth attendingthe program promoting safety and respect among all participants.
  • Respond to crisis/emergent situations as required.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of interactionswith youth, and incident reports as required.
  • Maintain program statistics, complete writtenreports, and evaluation processes as required.
  • Work collaboratively with all the Ndinaweprogramming staff to ensure the needs of the youth are being met.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in staffdevelopment as directed by the Manager of Specialized Services.
  • Maintain workspaces and participate in the generalcleanup of the building on a daily basis.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined inthe Ndinawe Personnel Policy andsite-specificmanual.
  • Perform other tasks consistent with this jobdescription as per personnel policies and procedures that align with thesupport and growth of Ndinawe.

Ndinawe requires a satisfactorycriminal record check (including vulnerable sector search), child abuseregistry check, and Prior contact check prior to the commencement ofemployment.
