Job summary

Red Crow Community College seeks a Program Coordinator for the Niitsitapi Educational Assistant Certificate Program. The role leads program delivery, oversees daily operations, supervises instructors and staff, and ensures compliance with college policies and funding requirements.

You will collaborate with Elders, students, and partners to promote Niitsitapi language and culture within the program and advance student success through robust records and reporting.

Qualifications

  • The program requires a Master’s Degree in Education or related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in program coordination or educational leadership is preferred.
  • Experience supervising staff and supporting adult learners is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, databases, student information systems, and Moodle.

  • Prepare and maintain program records, reports, budgets, and statistical data as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Red Crow Community College to support student services and program objectives.
  • Promote and incorporate Niitsitapi culture, language, and ways of knowing into program delivery whenever possible.

Job Title: Program Coordinator
Term: 1-year position – with the possibility of an extension

General Description

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, delivery, and administration of the Niitsitapi Educational Assistant Certificate Program at Red Crow Community College. Working collaboratively with instructors, students, Elders, community partners, and College departments, the Program Lead provides leadership in program planning, student success initiatives, and day-to-day operations. The Program Lead ensures the program is delivered in accordance with college policies, funding requirements, and the values and traditions of the Niitsitapi people. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and supportive learning environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments within Red Crow Community College to support student services and program objectives.
  • Promote and incorporate Niitsitapi culture, language, and ways of knowing into program delivery whenever possible.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the position.
Necessary Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
  • Master’s Degree in Education or a related discipline is required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in program coordination, educational leadership, or post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Experience supervising staff and supporting adult learners is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, databases, student information systems, and the learning management system Moodle.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of the Blackfoot language and an understanding of Niitsitapi culture, traditions, and protocols is considered a strong asset.
