  • Identify, prioritize, and coordinate high-value conservation and science stories across regions and business units.
  • Develop audience-focused messaging and determine the most effective formats, channels, and timing to maximize engagement and impact.
  • Ensure content consistently reflects brand standards, messaging frameworks, organizational voice, and strategic communications priorities.
  • Establish objectives and performance metrics for content development and delivery, monitor results, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Serve as a key connection point between regional teams, business units, and the national marketing and communications function, ensuring effective information flow and alignment of priorities.

  • Lead and develop a team that includes an editor and content specialists, setting priorities, managing workloads, conducting performance reviews, and supporting professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing environment centered on creativity, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to departmental and organizational strategic planning and identify opportunities to improve content workflows, tools, and cross-functional coordination.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, content strategy, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience managing people and financial resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Experience collaborating within complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving multiple regions, departments, or business units.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex, multi-part initiatives and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience communicating environmental science, policy, conservation, or other complex subject matter to diverse audiences is highly valuable.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and strong working knowledge of CPA writing style.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
