Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Certificate in Community Social Service.
• 1 year experience with marginalized populations, substance use services, mental health, or equivalent.
• Criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening required.
• Tuberculosis Screening form required.
• Employee Immunization Record form required.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides feedback on clients’ needs, performance and progress.
• Assist clients with life skills, personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal planning and appointments.
• Administer medications and provide reminders according to policy.
• Participate in client-focused social and recreational activities.
• Identify community resources to meet clients’ needs and provide related information.
• Assist with activities of daily living and accompany clients on outings.
• Complete and maintain records such as statistics and daily logs.
• Debrief with incoming shifts to ensure smooth handoffs.
• Support a safe, well-maintained building environment.
