Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Canada is seeking a Systems Engineer with a focus on integration and manufacturing optimization. You will study inventory levels, design systems with networks, robots and materials, and develop performance standards.

The role requires 3+ years in Systems Engineering and travel willingness. The base salary ranges CAD 77,000 to CAD 95,000 per year, with the final amount based on skills and experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Aerospace, Industrial or Electrical/Avionics Engineering; eligible for Professional Engineer registration.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Strong integration skills with system partners and technical integration.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies to determine optimum inventory levels and utilization of machinery and resources.
  • Design manufacturing systems to optimize the use of computer networks, robots and materials.
  • Develop performance standards.
  • Evaluate or assess industrial facilities to identify improvements.
  • Find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes.
  • Implement programs on optimum inventory levels.
  • Plan plant layouts and facilities.
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts, staff and other engineers.
  • Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures.
  • Analyze costs of production.
  • Design and conduct time studies and work simplification programs.
  • Assess plant facilities reliability and performance.
  • Establish programs to enhance health and safety and identify hazards.
  • Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs.
  • Assess business opportunities and develop strategies.
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures.
  • Evaluate technical designs and engineering work.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft hydraulic systems.

How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a Bachelor Degree in Aerospace or Industrial or Electrical/Avionics Engineering and eligibility for Professional Engineer registration.

The base salary for this position is expected to range from CAD $77,000 to CAD $95,000 per year. The applicable base salary will be determined based on various criteria, at Bombardier’s sole discretion, such as the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications.
