Job summary

Bombardier is seeking an experienced Ground & Flight Test Engineer to support the development of a new aircraft product through coordination, integration, and management of ground and flight-testing activities. You will work with Bombardier Flight Test Center (BFTC) and Bombardier Experimental (BEX) to define and execute test plans.

You will help establish test assets, reproduce aircraft functionality in test environments, and document testing strategies and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5–8 years in aerospace industry.

• Experience with PLM tools and Siemens Teamcenter is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the Ground & Flight Test Engineering group, supporting development through coordination, integration, and management of ground and flight-testing activities.
• Collaborate on the definition, design, and integration of ground and flight testing within the new product development team including BFTC and BEX.
• Support the definition and establishment of test assets required for product development, including ground test rigs, HIL environments, flight test vehicles, and other testing platforms.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure test environments replicate aircraft functionality and support validation of new designs.
• Document the project testing strategy, requirements, and scorecards and other technical definitions for testing.
• Generate and maintain design, build, and test schedules for ground rigs and flight test vehicles, aligned with milestones.
• Review testing status, identify risks, and support issue resolution across all testing phases.
• Engage with the product development team to determine testing strategy, timeline, purpose, and requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Be a part of the Ground & Flight Test Engineering group, supporting the development of a new aircraft product through the coordination, integration, and management of ground and flight-testing activities.
• Collaborate on the definition, design and integration of ground and flight testing within the new product development team including Bombardier Flight Test Center (BFTC) and Bombardier Experimental (BEX).
• Support the definition and establishment of test assets required for product development, including ground test rigs, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments, flight test vehicles, and other testing platforms used to validate and verify the aircraft design.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure test environments accurately replicate aircraft functionality and support the validation of new product designs throughout the development lifecycle.
• Document the project testing strategy, requirements, demands, and scorecards and any other supporting technical definition for testing.
• Generate and maintain design, build, and test schedules for ground rigs and flight test vehicles, ensuring alignment with program milestones and development objectives.
• Review the status of testing activities, identify risks and issues, and support their resolution across all phases of testing involving Bombardier-owned test assets.
• Support problem-solving for all program and engineering disciplines, including engaging with the integrated product development team to determine testing strategy, timeline, purpose, and requirements.
• Interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team, coordinating the work as required to complete your tasks.

• You have a solid understanding of aircraft systems integration and the interactions between software, hardware, avionics, electrical systems, and test environments.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and the Siemens suite (e.g., Teamcenter) is considered an asset.
