Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Professional Engineering - Air Systems/Pneumatics to join the Air Systems Engineering discipline. You will contribute to Environmental Control, Bleed Air, Ice/ Rain Protection, Cabin Pressurization and related systems within Aircraft Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities include setting system architecture, interface management, requirements verification, supplier coordination, and documentation to demonstrate regulatory certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiar with pneumatics, interfaces with other disciplines, and DO-160 / Mil-Std 810 knowledge.
  • Experience with system design tools and model-based engineering approaches.
  • Able to travel for short-term assignments and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a systems engineer and carry out pneumatics discipline activities.
  • Ensure integration and interface management of assigned systems and coordinate with internal groups & suppliers.
  • Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications and requirements, conduct functional modelling and trade studies.
  • Ensure engineering requirements management, validation and verification.
  • Manage suppliers from an engineering project and engineering technical perspective.
  • Review and approve engineering design documents such as vendor drawings, test procedures, acceptance test procedures, qualification reports and certification documents.
  • Document technical engineering analysis, ground, and flight test results.
  • Prepare engineering technical reports to show compliance with the applicable certification requirements.
  • Support the build and operation of test platforms (rigs, flight test vehicles).
  • Work within multi-disciplinary team to address product engineering definition or issue resolution.
  • Prepare design change modifications and optimized solutions.
  • Support production and in-service teams in troubleshooting engineering systems related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to program schedule and milestones.
  • Contribute to Knowledge Domain and Bombardier Engineering System (BES).

Job Overview

You will be part of the Air Systems Engineering / Pneumatics Systems Discipline team where you will be involved in Aircraft Systems Engineering for Environmental Control, Bleed Air, Ice and Rain Protection, Cabin Pressurization, Fire/Smoke detection, Heaters, Oxygen, Flow distribution and Ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a systems engineer and carry out pneumatics discipline activities
  • Assure integration and interface management of assigned systems and coordinate with internal groups & suppliers.
  • Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications and requirements, conduct functional modeling and trade studies.
  • Ensure engineering requirements management, validation and verification

Qualifications
  • You have a bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • You have ideally 5‑8 years of relevant technical experience in an aerospace engineering field
  • You have excellent knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamic concepts.
  • You quickly understand complex issues and have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • You possess basic knowledge in the pneumatics field and interfacing technical disciplines such as system installation, avionics, power plant and others.
  • You are familiar with component qualification (DO-160, Mil‑Std 810)
  • You are familiar with Design Process Assurance (ARP4754 A)
  • You have knowledge in functional modelling and system performance testing
  • You are comfortable with the technical aspects of engineering as well as project management
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office tools
  • You have knowledge of system design tools such as Model Based Engineering or simulation software
  • You are a recognized team player; work well in a team environment and create a collaborative relationship with other team members
  • You are self‑motivated, dynamic and a good communicator
  • You possess good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills
  • You are willing to travel for short‑term assignments
  • Bilingualism (French and English) would be required.
