Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Systems Integration engineer to drive interfaces across Global 5500/6500/7500/8000 aircraft interior systems. You will lead mechanical integration efforts, coordinate with Operations, Projects, Procurement and Technical teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Required is a college or university degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 10+ years of hands-on experience, plus proficiency with Enovia/Catia and Teamcenter/NX.

Qualifications

• College or University mechanical or aerospace engineering degree or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Solid experience with Enovia/Catia and Teamcenter/NX (GSD, Assy, Part Body, Drafting, etc.).
• Knowledge of Global Aircraft interiors and mechanical systems integration is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written) and French/English (verbal).

• Lead interfaces with suppliers and internal teams for mechanical systems components.
• Coordinate technical integration meetings; analyze and define technical proposals to meet customer needs.
• Chair design reviews and ensure components meet certification requirements.
• Mentor and transfer knowledge within the team.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Work with suppliers on projects related to mechanical systems components on the Global 5500/6500/7500/8000 (Window Shades, Water & Waste, Oxygen, ECS, Tables and Door mechanisms, Insulation, etc.).
• Collaborate with different internal parties (Operations, Projects, Programs, Procurement, Technical, etc.) as well as suppliers for problem solving.
• Negotiate interfaces with other systems/structures and formalize the agreement on Interface Control Drawings (ICD).
• Support Program Change Requests (PCR). Coordinate technical integration meetings, analyze, and define technical proposals to meet customer and operation needs.
• Lead technical meetings with suppliers and be responsible for the delivery of quality engineering documentation that meets Bombardier Standards.
• Chair design reviews and master regulatory and industry requirements.
• Ensure system components meet technical and certification requirements.
• Act as a technical leader and transfer knowledge through coaching/mentoring within your larger team.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college or University mechanical or aerospace engineering degree or equivalent with more than Ten (10) years of relevant experience.
• You have relevant technical business aircraft interiors experience; knowledge of the Global Aircrafts and Mechanical Systems Integration is an asset.
• You have solid experience working with Enovia/Catia and Teamcenter/NX (GSD, Assy, Part Body, Drafting, etc.);
• You understand product structure and aircraft certification.
• You have the ability to understand complex engineering issues and are innovative in problem solving.
• You are well organized and are project oriented.
• You must be a self-motivated person, a team player able to work under pressure and under a minimum of supervision.
• You have good communication skills including good English writing skills, and good French and English verbal skills.
• You also demonstrate an excellent track record of meeting your commitments with success.
