Production Supervisor – Afternoon / Evening Shift

The position of Production Supervisor is an exciting new opportunity within our Toronto Manufacturing team. We are looking for an individual who is technically inclined, energetic, enthusiastic, productive and who can handle multiple priorities in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

Overseeing key performance indicators, manufacturing processes and team efficiency in all production cells.

  • Managing orders and ensuring all needed materials are on-hand by working closely with the supply chain and logistics teams.
  • Troubleshooting production issues with support from engineering, senior operators and production specialists.
  • Working with senior operators to develop an in-depth knowledge of the product line; utilizing documentation to capture critical-to-process information.
  • Becoming a product knowledge expert.
  • Implementing and championing Lean initiatives.
  • Coaching and collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality product is built in a safe, cost-effective, timely manner.
  • Ensuring department compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Holding regular meetings and prepare reports outlining daily/weekly/monthly scheduling plans.
  • Communicating production matters to all levels of management and production staff.
  • Working autonomously and unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Performing independent decision making and in collaboration with senior management.

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have

  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment with a mandate for safety, quality and customer service.
  • Sheet metal fabrication, welding, toggle locking, riveting and/or forming experience.
  • A willingness and ability to learn technical requirements of the product.
  • 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • An aptitude for reading blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to effect and champion change.
  • A proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to vary work hours to accommodate fluctuating business needs.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts is an asset.
  • The ability to travel internationally.
  • A post-secondary education (considered an asset).

Shift Requirements

  • The afternoon / evening shift hours are from 3:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, and from 12:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday.
  • Additionally, flexibility to work alternate shifts as needed is required for this position.
