Job summary

Aspire Bakeries in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a unionized setting. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while coaching teams and coordinating production schedules to meet on-time delivery.

You’ll collaborate with Bakery Management, R&D, Maintenance and QA to support business goals, uphold GMP and food safety standards, and champion continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent with strong communication skills.
  • 3–5 years supervisory/Lead Hand experience in a manufacturing environment (union environment preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating production teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including rotating shifts, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and shifts up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Bakery Management, R&D, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance, to support business goals.

About The Role

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team at our Winnipeg, MB bakery facility. As a Production Supervisor, you will be accountable for leading production operations in a unionized manufacturing environment while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and labor performance objectives are achieved. This role serves as a key communication link between frontline teams and management, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Compensation

Salary Range: $60,000- $80,000

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
  • Lead production teams to achieve daily safety, quality, productivity, and service objectives.
  • Supervise and develop unionized employees through coaching, performance feedback, and goal setting.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring To The Table)
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent with strong communication skills.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory/Lead Hand experience in a manufacturing environment better if it is in union enviornment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating production teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including rotating shifts, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and shifts up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients For Success)
  • Food manufacturing or bakery industry experience supervising unionized employees.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and production reporting systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and communication skills in a multilingual or ESL work environment.
