Job summary

Semex/Boviteq is seeking an Animal Health Technician to support the health and development of bulls on site, reporting to the Farm Manager. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada.

You will enter animal data, assist during veterinary procedures, share observations for diagnosis, and maintain drug/material inventories. This in-person role requires rigor, livestock care knowledge, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• College diploma in animal health technology.
• Good knowledge of livestock care.
• Ability and experience operating farm equipment.
• Physically capable of handling cows; standing for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ability to follow biosecurity protocols.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an Animal Health Technician who will work under the direction of the Farm Manager and in close collaboration with the farm team to support the health, well‑being, and development of all bulls on site. The working hours of the role are Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

What You Will Do:

• Enter animal data into files and other computer programs.
• Handle, immobilize, and care for animals during and after veterinary manipulations.
• Collaborate in the diagnosis by transmitting detected clinical observations.
• Maintain up-to-date inventories of drugs and materials necessary for animal health interventions.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Rigor and professionalism
• College diploma in animal health technology
• Good knowledge of livestock care
• Ability and experience operating farm equipment
• To be physically capable of handling cows, walking/standing for extended periods and other physical tasks
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in at team
• Ability to follow Biosecurity protocols and related SOP’s

This is an in-person rolerequiring 5 days per week in our Saint-Hyacinthe location. This position offers a minimum startingsalary of $22.25/hour, withpotential compensation enhancementsbased on applicable experience and qualifications.
