Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America seeks a Production Supervisor for our Delta, BC cement operations. You will lead a 24/7 unionized production team, ensuring safe, efficient operations and adherence to quality and environmental objectives.

You report to the Production Manager and coordinate with maintenance and other departments to resolve issues and maintain continuous cement manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Technical college education in mechanical, electrical, or process control systems preferred.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
• Experience leading a unionized workforce is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP and Kronos are assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise shift crews to maximize production performance while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Monitor plant operations, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous cement manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to investigate equipment failures and improve continuity.

Position Overview

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Production Supervisor to support our Delta, BC cement operations. The role with report directly to the Production Manager and will lead a 24/7 unionized production team ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations while meeting production, quality, and environmental objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and supervise shift crews to maximize production performance while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Monitor plant operations, troubleshoot operational issues, and make timely decisions to support continuous cement manufacturing processes.

Coordinate with maintenance and other departments to investigate equipment failures, resolve issues, and improve operational continuity.

Administer the collective bargaining agreement and apply company policies, procedures, and safety programs consistently.

Collaborate with fellow supervisors during shift handovers, outages, shutdowns, and special projects to ensure seamless 24/7 operations.

What We Are Looking For

High School Diploma required; technical college education in mechanical, electrical, or process control systems preferred.

Proven leadership and supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, heavy industrial, or cement environment.

Experience leading a unionized workforce and working within a collective bargaining environment strongly preferred.

Ability to make sound decisions, manage multiple priorities, and lead effectively in a fast-paced operation.

Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot operational, quality, environmental, and equipment-related issues.

Cement manufacturing experience and knowledge of raw mix, clinker, cement production processes, process control systems, and laboratory systems are preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Kronos is an asset.

Rotating 12-hour shift schedule supporting a 24/7 operation: three days on, three days off, three nights on, three days off.

Primarily plant-based role requiring regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, elevated noise levels, dust, heat, varying weather conditions, and other industrial environments.
