Job summary

Toromont Cat Power Systems is seeking Production Shop EGS Technicians to diagnose and repair Caterpillar Power Systems in a safe, timely manner and with high standards. The role offers full-time, permanent employment with compensation of $46.11 to $47.49 per hour and opportunities across Eastern Canada.

You will prepare gensets and engines, perform pre-job hazard assessments, troubleshoot equipment, interpret wiring diagrams, and submit detailed reports while contributing to a safe, premium

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in a technical field such as electro-mechanics, truck & coach, motive power, heavy equipment, electrical technician, or equivalent program.
• Technician with a solid understanding of diesel, gas engines, power fundamentals and electrical controls.
• 3 years of professional experience as a technician.
• 310T license (an asset)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe and environmentally sound work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives.
• Prepare new and used products including gensets, industrial engines, marine engines, controls and other auxiliary equipment, such as Automatic Transfer Switches, Switchgear and Uninterruptible Power Supplies modified to customer’s specifications.
• Conduct pre-job hazard assessments and mechanical repairs on engines and generators in the shop.
• Perform basic troubleshooting for all equipment and provide recommendations on repairs and upgrades.
• Use electrical and mechanical testing and calibrating equipment to diagnose and service equipment.
• Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Submit accurate and detailed service reports, time cards and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Operate and connect load banks in a test environment and perform engine overhauls.

Toromont Cat Power Systems is looking for Production Shop EGS Technicians to join our team! The Production Shop EGS Technicians will be responsible for supporting our customers with superior service and product expertise to safely and effectively diagnose and repair Caterpillar Power Systems in a timely manner while maintain high standards and ensuring positive customer experiences.

Compensation

$46.11 to $47.49
