Job summary

Agropur is seeking a Production role to support the Production Supervisor and drive a safe, efficient shift. You will lead a team, foster collaboration, and uphold GMP/HACCP/SQF standards while maintaining quality and meeting production targets.

The position emphasizes teamwork, problem solving, and strong communication to support continuous improvement and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and SQF quality systems required.
• Supervisory experience in food or pharma is an asset.
• SAP knowledge is an asset; proficiency with MS Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and improve safety culture.
• Support Production Supervisor with employee relations, training and performance reviews.
• Provide leadership and coaching to Production team.
• Promote teamwork and high levels of employee involvement.
• Maintain product quality, support audits and SQF/HACCP status.
• Monitor equipment and resources to meet production needs on time.
• Help achieve department labour budgets and productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of health and safety regulations, and the ability to implement programs to improve safety culture.
• Responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in employee relations including work direction of employees, training, performance reviews, administering policies and procedures, and disciplinary action.
• Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the Production team.
• Promote and enhance a positive employee relation atmosphere including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
• Ensures consistent application of best practices towards product evaluation, food safety and quality to support and maintain Agropur's quality standards.
• Supports the operation of the HACCP team to ensure that the facility and documentation are suitable for third party/customer audits to maintain the SQF/ HACCP status at the plant.
• Monitor and ensure efficiency of plant equipment and resources and ensure production requirements are met on time.
• Responsible for achieving department budgets in the area of labour costs by measuring and improving productivity and processes.
• Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
• Results driven, bottom-line orientated, strives to exceed goals, and motivates self and others to achieve positive outcomes.
• Demonstrate ability to drive organizational change through strong interpersonal and communication skills and formal problem-solving techniques.
• In the Production Supervisor's absence, such as vacations or sick time, you will be responsible for assuming the role of Supervisor for your shift.
• Participate in First Aid Training in order to support the shift in First Aid.

Key Requirements

• Knowledge of quality assurance systems (GMP, HACCP and SQF).
• Knowledge of SAP (an asset).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and field-specific software.
• Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience is an asset.
• Experience supervising in food or pharma industry would be an asset UKG Scheduling experience would be considered an asset.
