Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety, HACCP, SQF is an asset; proficiency with MS Office; Kronos/Workday is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production activities from raw material receipt through processing, packaging, aging (where applicable), and shipping.
• Deliver the production plan in terms of volume, quality, and cost by coordinating processes and work teams.
• Supervise, coach, and develop production staff while fostering engagement and accountability.

Position Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing production teams, overseeing manufacturing processes, and ensuring the efficient execution of operations from raw material reception to finished product distribution. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role plays a key part in delivering production targets in terms of quality, quantity, cost, and timelines, while fostering a strong culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. As a change agent, the Production Supervisor contributes to the transformation of operations by promoting efficiency, accountability, and employee engagement. Agropur is looking for an Evening Shift Production Supervisor to join its team in St‑Laurent. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor plays a key role in achieving production objectives related to quality, volume, cost, and timelines, while fostering a strong culture of health and safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. As a change agent, the Production Supervisor contributes to the transformation of operations by promoting efficiency, accountability, and employee engagement.

Work schedule

Monday to Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Salary

Salary scale 004: $73,000 to $91,200 (base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the role)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production activities, from raw material receiving through processing, packaging, aging (where applicable), and shipping, while ensuring adherence to schedules and customer requirements.
• Deliver the production plan in terms of volume, quality, and cost by effectively coordinating manufacturing processes and work teams.
• Ensure optimal management of raw materials, ingredients, and cleaning products.
• Plan and manage workforce requirements based on operational needs.
• Supervise, coach, and develop production teams while fostering engagement, accountability, and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and maintain positive labor relations.
• Promote and enforce health and safety standards, including participation in key programs such as lockout/tagout, machine safety, confined spaces, WHMIS, and related initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality, sanitation, and food safety requirements (e.g., SQF, HACCP, GMP).
• Oversee sanitation activities and ensure equipment cleanliness is maintained.
• Support compliance with environmental requirements and sustainable practices.
• Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to performance improvement efforts.
• Initiate, support, and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing processes, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste.
• Participate in plant committees and contribute to achieving strategic objectives.
• Foster a culture of operational efficiency and continuous improvement aligned with organizational values.

Requirements

• College diploma or bachelor's degree in operations management, Engineering, Food Processing, or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
• 3 to 5 years of production supervisory experience within the food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.
• Experience working in a unionized environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety, quality, and food safety standards, including HACCP and SQF.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with systems such as Kronos or Workday is considered an asset.

Additional qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment required. Experience in the food or dairy industry is an asset.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• None for Certification/Licensure Required.
