Job summary

Suncor is hiring a Production Reporting EIT in Calgary to support accurate, timely reporting for internal stakeholders and the Alberta Energy Regulator. You will validate data, maintain measurement plans, and assist in long-range planning in a dynamic operating environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or petroleum engineering or related discipline; master’s degree is an asset.
  • 1–4 years of engineering experience; registered or eligible for provincial registration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Oil Sands operations and Alberta Energy Regulator directives is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production reporting systems in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collect, validate, and reconcile production data; perform plant mass balances.
  • Prepare and review monthly production reports for internal stakeholders and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER).
  • Maintain regulatory measurement plans and support audits, compliance activities, and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct investigations and root-cause analyses to resolve reporting discrepancies with cross-functional teams.

We are hiring a Production Reporting EIT to support accurate, timely, and compliant production reporting for internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies, including the Alberta Energy Regulator AER. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate production data, maintain reporting processes and measurement plans, and support long-range planning initiatives. Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Applied Science, or a related discipline; master’s degree in engineering is considered an asset
  • One to four years of relevant engineering experience. Registered or eligible for registration with the applicable provincial engineering association
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Working knowledge of technical processes, heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, and process engineering principles
  • Knowledge of Oil Sands operations and Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) directives, policies, and reporting requirements is considered an asset.

  • Conduct investigations, root cause analyses, risk assessments, and technical reviews to resolve reporting discrepancies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency.
Location and other Key details:
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a 40-hour work week, Monday toFriday
