Job summary

TIFF is seeking a Production Manager, Market to lead onsite planning, production, and operations for TIFF: The Market at MTCC. You will coordinate venues, activation spaces, and cross-functional teams to deliver events on schedule, within budget, and with high standards of safety and service.

The role requires 3 years in event production with a focus on production management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal departments and external partners.

Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in the Event Production Industry in either a producer role or similar, with a specialization in production management.
  • Experience in project management and coordination of live events is considered an asset.
  • Background in business or arts administration is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high-pressure environments with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

We are currently hiring for the position of:

PRODUCTION MANAGER, MARKET

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Market Operations, the Production Manager, Market is responsible for the onsite planning, production, and operational delivery of all venues and activation spaces associated with TIFF: The Market at the Metro Toronto Convention Center (MTCC) . This role supports/leads all phases of production, including pre-production, venue setup, onsite operations, and load-out, ensuring TIFF: The Market spaces are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations.

As the operational lead for TIFF: The Market, the Production Manager, Market collaborates with internal departments, venues, vendors, sponsors, national agencies, exhibitors, and other external partners to deliver high-quality industry spaces that support business development, networking, and professional programming. The role is responsible for overseeing production logistics, venue readiness, operational planning, and cross-functional coordination, while ensuring an exceptional experience for delegates, partners, and stakeholders.

The Production Manager, Market exercises sound operational judgment, proactively resolves onsite challenges, and maintains the highest standards of safety, service, and operational excellence throughout the delivery of TIFF: The Market .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production & Operations

Support the Lead the planning, logistical coordination of, production, setup, onsite operations, and load-out of TIFF: The Market at the MTCC and other Market venues of all venues and activation spaces associated with TIFF: The Market, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

Develop and manage detailed production plans, operational timelines, venue layouts, and floor plans to maximize functionality, optimize space utilization, and support exhibitor, sponsor, and delegate requirements.

Lead the planning and execution of the Industry Office, including relocation to off-site locations where required, ensuring all operational, technology, furniture, equipment, and workspace requirements are met.

Partner with the Sales, Delegate Experience and Event Production teams to support onsite activities and ensure operational excellence throughout the event, develop production schedules, procure materials and equipment, and coordinate installation and dismantle activities.

Monitor onsite operations throughout TIFF: The Market, proactively identifying and resolving operational issues while maintaining a high standard of service for delegates, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and stakeholders.

Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, vendors, venues, contractors, and service providers, negotiating services and coordinating deliverables to ensure the successful execution of all Market operations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with National Agencies, exhibitors, sponsors, and industry partners before and during TIFF: The Market , ensuring exhibition spaces, activations, and operational requirements are successfully delivered.

Collaborate with internal departments, including IT, Marketing, Sales, Programming Creative, Facilities, Event Production, and other cross-functional teams, to coordinate venue readiness, infrastructure, branding, technology, and operational support at the MTCC across all Market locations.

Site Management & Operational Support

Oversee site safety, security, accessibility, and operational compliance for TIFF: The Market at the MTCC all Industry Office and Market locations, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and venue requirements.

Coordinate with Festival Services and Volunteer teams to ensure appropriate staffing, volunteer support, and operational resources are assigned to Market venues throughout all phases of the event.

Support continuous improvement by evaluating operational processes, identifying efficiencies, and contributing to post-event reporting and recommendations for future Market delivery.

JOB GRADE & SALARY:

Job Grade 3

$30/hr.

August 31 to September 17, 2026

WORK LOCATION:

Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5

Weekly in-office requirements:

Minimum 2 days (November to April)

Minimum 3 days (May to October)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

3 years experience in the Event Production Industry in either a producer role or similar, with a specialization in production management

Experience in project management and coordination of live events is considered an asset

Background in business or arts administration is considered an asset

Ability to work and respond well in fast-paced and high-pressure environments with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a polished, professional, and client-oriented approach.

Strong interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy, with the ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations with tact and discretion.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with initiative and the ability to coordinate projects and follow through.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Suite considered an asset.

Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
