Job summary

TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (TIFF) is hiring for the Market Public Relations Assistant to support the Marketing & Communications team at MTCC in Toronto. You will serve as the first point of contact for accredited media and delegates, handling inquiries professionally and directing complex requests to the appropriate team members.

The role runs Sept 10–16, 2026, with on-site duties at 350 King Street West and a weekly in-office requirement.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Professional and confident interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with social media platforms and media monitoring tools is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required during TIFF: The Market.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for accredited media and stakeholder inquiries, responding to routine questions and escalating complex or sensitive requests to the appropriate member of the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Assist with monitoring media coverage as needed.
  • Support media accreditation for TIFF: The Market
  • Assist with general, PR-related administrative duties on site at the MTCC
  • Provide insights and support the Marcomm team’s reporting and administrative tasks post Market.
  • Provide stellar customer service and represent TIFF: The Market in a professional manner
  • Perform other communications and administrative duties as assigned.

We are currently hiring for the position of:

Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications – Market, the Market Public Relations Assistant supports the Marketing & Communications team by serving as an initial point of contact for accredited media and any other press or delegates seeking information related to the Market at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) from September 10-16. A key responsibility includes ensuring requests are handled professionally, in a timely manner, and directed to the appropriate team members when necessary.

The Market Public Relations Assistant may also support media monitoring and administrative duties as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Public Relations & Media Support

Serve as a first point of contact for accredited media and stakeholder inquiries, responding to routine questions and escalating complex or sensitive requests to the appropriate member of the Marketing & Communications team.

Assist with monitoring media coverage as needed.

Event & Stakeholder Coordination

Support media accreditation for TIFF: The Market

Administrative Support

Assist with general, PR-related administrative duties on site at the MTCC

Provide insights and support the Marcomm team’s reporting and administrative tasks post Market.

General Responsibilities

Provide stellar customer service and represent TIFF: The Market in a professional manner

Perform other communications and administrative duties as assigned.

JOB GRADE & SALARY:

Job Grade: 1

$22/Hourly

August 31st, 2026 - September 16th, 2026

WORK LOCATION:

Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5

Weekly in-office requirements:

Minimum 2 days (November to April)

Minimum 3 days (May to October)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
