Job Summary : Our client islooking for a Production Manager to lead the manufacturing operations at our Ontario-based food production facility. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food safety and quality standards in Canada, and a passion for continuous improvement. This role ensures that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities :
- Daily Operations Management : Oversee all aspects of food production, ensuring timely output while maintaining product quality and safety.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure full compliance with CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency), Health Canada, HACCP, GMP, and other federal / provincial regulations.
- Team Leadership : Supervise, coach, and support production staff, ensuring proper training, performance management, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Safety & Sanitation : Promote a culture of health and safety in line with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Work with Health & Safety teams to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Inventory & Resource Planning : Work with purchasing and inventory teams to manage raw materials and packaging supplies to avoid production delays.
- Reporting & KPIs : Track and report on production metrics including output, downtime, waste, and labour utilization. Prepare daily and weekly performance summaries for management. Qualifications :
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of CFIA regulations, HACCP, and GMP standards.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Working Conditions :
