Responsibilities

• Oversee all production activities, emphasizing the high-volume custom steel welding department (approximately 50-60).
• Inspire, mentor, and effectively manage a diverse team across two shifts, fostering accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Drive significant efficiency gains, aiming to increase output and reduce lead times from our current 40% operational capacity.
• Lead the implementation and optimization of a new ERP system, digitizing planning, scheduling, and data management.
• Uphold and elevate stringent quality standards while prioritizing a proactive safety culture in a demanding, hot environment.
• Champion and implement continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Translate complex technical drawings and weld symbols into precise production plans and resource allocation.
• Proactively troubleshoot production issues, implementing decisive solutions to maintain workflow.
• Track and analyze KPIs for data-driven strategic decisions.
• Contribute to workforce planning, hiring, and developing robust training programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a production supervisory or management role within metal fabrication.
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in production MIG welding.
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and weld symbols.
• Strong computer literacy, including experience with or enthusiasm for ERP systems.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, capable of motivating teams and navigating resistance effectively.
• Experience in continuous improvement and change management methodologies.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a strong problem-solving aptitude.
• Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, hands-on industrial environment.
