Job summary

Canada's National Ballet School (NBS) is seeking a Production Manager to lead production and technical operations for performances, events, and theatre daily operations at 400 Jarvis Street, Toronto. You will plan, coordinate, and oversee production requirements, budgets, and staff, ensuring safety and high professional standards.

Qualifications

• College diploma or degree in Theatre Production or related field.
• Minimum eight years of production and administrative experience.
• Demonstrated leadership supervising staff.
• Hands-on knowledge of theatre and dance production, rigging, lighting, and sound.
• Strong budget and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Production Planning for annual productions and events with the Artistic Director.
• Oversee theatre, wardrobe, technical and front-of-house elements.
• Manage rentals across NBS facilities and productions.
• Develop and manage operating budgets for Production Department and Rentals.
• Ensure safe theatre operations and adherence to health and safety standards.
• Hire, supervise, and develop production and wardrobe staff.
• Negotiate contracts for artistic and production personnel.
