Job summary

Canada's National Ballet School (NBS) is seeking a Production Manager to lead production and technical operations for performances, events, and daily theatre activities. You will partner with artistic and administrative teams to plan and execute all productions across multiple venues, including rentals.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive theatre production knowledge, and a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility as part of a collaborative, high-caliber arts

Qualifications

  • College diploma or degree in Theatre Production, Technical Theatre, or related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of production and administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising, motivating, and developing staff.
  • First-hand knowledge of theatre and dance production, including rigging, lighting, and/or sound.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee all production and technical aspects of NBS' annual productions and events, both on- and off-site, in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Artistic Manager.
  • Manage and coordinate production, company management, wardrobe, technical, and front-of-house elements for NBS productions and events, including major engagements.
  • Oversee rentals and theatre operations, ensuring safety, maintenance, and timely delivery of services.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets for the Production Department and Rental Operations, aligning with financial goals.
