Job summary

Crestline Coach Ltd. in Saskatoon is seeking a hands-on Team Lead to guide welders and CNC/machine operators in building the structural ambulance body.

You will oversee floor frame to roof fabrication, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput on weekend shifts (Fri–Sun, 6:00 am–6:30 pm). Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in manufacturing with leadership experience, ability to read drawings, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment.
  • Leadership, lead hand, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and quality standards.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and email communication.
  • Ability to calculate measurements, dimensions, percentages, and tolerances.

  • Coordinate workflow across ambulance body build operations, including machine operation, fabrication, welding, and structural assembly.

Role: Team Lead, Welding and Fabrication

Location: Saskatoon

Work Schedule: Weekend shift, Friday - Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm

Enjoy four consecutive days off every week while leading a skilled team of welders and machine operators in a critical manufacturing operation.

We are seeking a hands-on Team Lead to oversee the team responsible for building and welding the structural ambulance body, from floor frame assemblies through roof, wall, sheeting, and final body fabrication stages. This team includes skilled aluminum welders, CNC operators, milling operators, and saw operators who manufacture the structural components that form the foundation of every ambulance we build.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys coaching employees, solving production challenges, driving continuous improvement, and leading from the floor.

As a Team Lead, You Will
Support Daily Manufacturing Throughput and Output
  • Lead team members in their day-to-day activities while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards
  • Coordinate workflow across ambulance body build operations, including machine operation, fabrication, welding, and structural assembly activities
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable while providing ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Monitor and address productivity, output, quality, and scheduling concerns
  • Ensure employees have the tools, equipment, and materials required to perform their work efficiently
  • Partner with Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, Safety & Quality, and other departments to remove barriers to production
  • Support the achievement of production targets, cycle times, and quality standards
  • Maintain records and performance metrics for the area of responsibility
Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and Kaizen activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, lead times, and cost performance
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities
  • Coordinate improvement projects and support implementation of sustainable solutions
  • Conduct audits related to housekeeping, safety, quality, and productivity
Champion Quality and Safety
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards before moving to the next stage of production
  • Support a quality-first culture focused on workmanship and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Safety & Quality to maintain a Mission Zero incident safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices
  • Coach employees on safety expectations and housekeeping standards
Develop and Support Employees
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Provide day-to-day feedback and support employee growth
  • Support training and cross-training initiatives
  • Conduct performance discussions and support employee development
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment
  • Previous leadership, lead hand, supervisory, or team lead experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and quality standards

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, machining, or metal manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading employees involved in structural assembly, fabrication, or manufacturing operations
  • Experience supporting machine operators, welders, or skilled production employees
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Leadership training in communication, conflict resolution, coaching, performance management, or team development
