Job summary

Equinox Gold, Musselwhite Mine in Northwestern Ontario, seeks a Production Geologist to join the team. You will report to the Senior Production Geologist and support underground grade control, sampling, mapping and reporting, working with Engineering and Mining to optimize operations.

The role emphasizes interpreting lithology/mineralogy, designing delineation drilling, and logging diamond cores, with a 14-on/14-off schedule and 12-hour days.

Qualifications

• Four-year B.Sc. degree in Geology or equivalent (2–5 years experience preferred).
• Geo designation or working toward designation.
• Deswik and Acquire software knowledge is an asset.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective underground grade control.
• Sampling and mapping of underground headings with reporting.
• Liaise with Engineering and Mining to optimize grade control.
• Provide information for daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
• Interpret lithology and mineralogy; model deposits.

Purpose

We are seeking a motivated Production Geologist to join our team, reporting to the Senior Production Geologist.

• Provide effective grade control of the underground mine
• Perform sampling and mapping of underground headings and associated reporting
• Liaise with Engineering and Mining Departments to optimize grade control and operational efficiency
• Provide information for daily, weekly and monthly reporting
• Perform interpretation and modeling of lithology and mineralogy
• Design and manage delineation drilling programs
• Interpret geological data and model deposits
• Log diamond drill core as required

Education and Experience

• 4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology, or equivalent 2 - 5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Geo, or working towards designation
• Knowledge of Deswik and Acquire software's is an asset
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening, presentation)
• Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 55 lbs
• Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level
• Strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner
• Experience working in a culturally diverse environment

Working Conditions

The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day.

Compensation

• The salary range for this position is CAD $105,000 - $117,500 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
• This role is eligible to participate in the Company's annual short term incentive program. The target annual bonus for this position is 10% of base salary, subject to individual and company performance.
• The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
