Job summary

Magna Exteriors is hiring for an open position focused on vision-based error proofing and camera integration within automotive assembly. You will determine requirements with vendors and internal teams, install and program cameras, and validate camera software to ensure high-quality production.

The role requires knowledge of automotive assembly processes, strong communication skills, and experience with vision systems and PLC/Python/Ignition programming.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school and post-secondary education in Engineering (min. 2-year technician level).
• Knowledge of automotive assembly process and equipment is required.
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken).
• Vision cameras programming experience is preferred.
• Controls programming (PLC, Python, Ignition) experience is an asset.
• AutoCAD experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Owns implementation of vision-based error-proofing plan and determines requirements with vendors/internal resources.
• Ensures cameras are incorporated into table/fixture designs and programs are validated.
• Supports maintenance through life of the program and assists with related issues.
• Supports process flow, FMEA, plant layout updates and equipment run-offs.
• Provides feedback into standardized work and writes standard work instructions as needed.
