Job description

ERG Job Opportunity: Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineer

ERG, a research and consulting firm supporting federal, state, and commercial clients, is seeking a full-time onsite experienced engineer in mechanical, aerospace, or industrial engineering to support manufacturing operations at a federal facility in Indian Head, Maryland.

This position involves collaboration with ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG's offices in Chantilly and Arlington. The role offers flexible work schedules and is located approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Support material and end-item production through various engineering duties.
  2. Conduct statistical analysis to monitor production and quality.
  3. Identify and resolve production delays related to procurement, quality, and equipment issues.
  4. Perform market research and coordinate procurement of equipment and parts.
  5. Analyze equipment and processes for optimization, modifications, and maintenance.
  6. Prepare and review technical documentation including SOPs, data packages, drawings, and P&IDs.
  7. Conduct engineering, safety, and quality control analyses.
  8. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering (GPA ≥ 3.0).
  2. 1-5 years of manufacturing-related experience.
  3. Proficiency with spreadsheets, statistical analysis, and engineering drawings.
  4. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  5. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  7. Must hold or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Technical writing experience.
  2. Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  3. Experience with federal contracts or facilities.
  4. Active secret security clearance.
