AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Team Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in North York, Ontario. In this role you will be responsible for the mechanical design and execution of a wide variety of projects such as Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Rail and Transit, etc. Oversee a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians, leading the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems, while also providing technical guidance and mentorship. Technical knowledge of how all mechanical components of building systems including HVAC, plumbing & fire protection systems contribute to building energy efficiency, will set you apart.

Your role within the team

Team Leadership and Management:
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Performance Management: Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate resources and manage team workload to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts within the team in a timely and constructive manner.


Technical Expertise:
  • Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems, components, and processes.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to team members and other stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.


Communication and Collaboration:
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project status, issues, and solutions to stakeholders, including clients, management, and other departments.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure successful project outcomes.


Continuous Improvement:
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay Current: Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in mechanical engineering.

The ideal candidate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with PEO. PMP designation or CAPM certificate.
  • 15+ years' experience in Mechanical consulting, in various market verticals. Strong business acumen and client facing. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and relevant industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Skills - MS Office Suite and design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Must have a valid driver's license. Willing to travel occasionally within and outside of Ontario.
