Job description

This is a 6 month fixed term employee contract initially, with a likelihood of extension.

This role is part of our Personalised Content team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalised, digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviours, and shift market share for our clients including eBay, Walmart, and more!

JOB PURPOSE

In this role, you will support the design development and delivery of web experiences for a large-scale eCommerce platform, setting standards for others to follow. Combining creativity, curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail, this role is a crucial bridge between idea and execution. You are design-focused, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to bring designs to life, including repurposing, resizing, and leveraging design systems. You are inspired by technology and the role brands play in culture today.

You will exercise discretion and independent judgment, designing digital experiences, lifestyle, and technology content to create meaningful connections. You possess strong design intuition, a desire to learn and grow, and a commitment to client satisfaction. You also have strong problem-solving skills and a successful track record.

You will design web pages within a large Design System framework and ensure visual assets are web-ready for handoff to build teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Support web page design and build, collaborating with designers to refine visual assets using Figma and Photoshop.
  2. Ensure pixel-perfect layouts, paying attention to specs, file size, and compression.
  3. Organize and communicate designs effectively for easy reference and integration by content and engineering teams.
  4. Optimize assets for responsiveness, balancing quality and file size.
  5. Perform visual QA focusing on asset quality and interaction with code and systems.
  6. Innovate and improve workflows and communication methods.
  7. Create presentations, documentation, and asset kits for developers and team members.
  8. Design, adapt, and package regional kits for global use.
  9. Contribute creatively and collaboratively, prioritizing client and team needs.
  10. Bring fresh perspectives and take on additional duties as assigned.
  11. Work proactively in a minimally structured environment, solving problems with optimism and initiative.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 2-3 years of experience in web/digital design.
  • Strong design eye: composition, visual balance, and consistency.
  • Proficiency in Figma (or similar) with experience using components and design systems.
  • Technical Photoshop skills: layer interactions, export settings, graphics understanding.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail managing large assets.
  • Knowledge of static graphics, resolution, compression, and formats.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration across departments.
  • Problem-solving ability in fast-paced environments.
  • Self-management skills to balance workload and seek support when needed.
  • Ownership of tasks and timely delivery under tight deadlines.
  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions for clarity.
  • Additional tools: After Effects, Illustrator (a plus).
  • Basic web development knowledge: HTML, CSS, static/dynamic pages.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA, Asana, Trello.
  • Ability to check CSS properties via browser inspector for QA.
  • Effective technical communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn motion formats and compression.
  • Interest in automation and scalable workflows.
