Qualifications

Job Summary

The Live Event and Media Production Team looks after a wide array of festivals and events through the year. Working primarily out of Meadowvale Theatre, Paramount Fine Food Centre and Celebration Square, you will be leading teams through setup and operations of the different events at each facility. As part of a larger team, you will assist with all aspects of the event setup and operation. This position offers valuable hands-on experience working with industry-standard equipment and encourages you to continually enhance your skills through hands-on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with clients and staff to ensure the needs of each event/production are met.
  • Offer solutions to show questions or problems and know when to direct clients to supervisor(s).
  • Coordinate crews and ensure setups are completed on schedule.
  • Work with teams to ensure systems and equipment are configured for the specific event requirements.
  • Ensure systems are functional and safe for use.
  • Operate production-related equipment such as video switchers, replay units, audio consoles, lighting boards, cameras, comm systems, etc.
  • Review production paperwork and develop operational plans for events, including setup and operation in different environments depending on show requirements and safety considerations.
  • Design shows based on available inventory, including all paperwork related to the design process.
  • Coordinate all aspects of production while on site.
  • Identify hazards and create operational plans to mitigate.
  • Ensure all work is carried out according to H&S standards.
  • Ensure proper utilization of the escalation process when required.
  • Provide training to staff in specific disciplines (lighting, audio, video, rigging, etc.).
  • Properly document equipment issues and report problems to the supervisor.
  • Disassemble and clean or repair equipment components.
  • Produce event and maintenance reports as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education with a specialization in a specific technical area.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a team lead or in another leadership role related to production.
  • 1 - 3 years of design experience (lighting/audio, video, rigging).
  • Ability to lift supplies and equipment.
  • Standard First Aid certification is required.
  • Working at Heights and Lift training is an asset.

Hourly Rate/Salary: $22.12 - $29.49
Hours of Work: up to 40 hrs
