About Strescon Limited

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollowcore slabs, precast pile, and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq.ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq.ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Production Coordinator to oversee our production operations at our Strescon Bedford location. This role is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees, organizing workflows, and schedules. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to oversee others and meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily production process, managing production schedules and time and review payroll allocation
  • Organize personnel and resources adequately to meet the company's production goals
  • Ensure specifications and quality standards are being met
  • Oversee attendance management program, and direct the crew accordingly
  • Manage leadhands, dealing with the daily issues brought up by the labourers, carpenters, and finishers
  • Ensure overall production efficiency and productivity, often involving strategic planning and long-term goals
  • Identify areas of improvement and making cases to drive innovative ideas
  • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Superintendent

Requirements

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the concrete industry
  • Previous experience with scheduling is a definite asset
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction drawings is important
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential
  • Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
