Weyerhaeuser's Parallam manufacturing plant on Annacis Island (Delta, BC) is seeking Production Associates for a 12-hour rotating shift. The role involves operating equipment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring product quality in a 40-hour average work week.

Responsibilities

DescriptionTake advantage of this Limited opportunity to join the World’s premier timber, land and forest products company!Weyerhaeuser's (Engineered Wood Products) Parallam manufacturing Plant, located on Annacis Island (Delta), British Columbia, is currently seeking Production Associates. Our plant manufactures the high strength engineered wood product Parallam and is a participative management team concept operation. We believe that the key to our success lies within our associates, and we value the diversity of people and ideas.Successful candidates will be provided with all the required training to perform their role safely and efficiently and will initially provide support across a multi-shift/24-hour hour production environment. The standard production shift length is 12 hours, with a mixture of dayshifts and nightshifts (including weekends) required. The new hires will work full-time hours, averaging 40 hours/week, and will be performing in a variety of capacities to produce quality products for our customers.Starting rate: $30.38/hr.We take pride in offering a great work environment and generous benefits package to include:An environment focused on safety for our people.On-the-job training.Performance-based Gainshare Plan: Enrolled from Day 1. The package includes health, dental, vision, paid vacation, short and long-term disability, and life insurance.Pension Plan: Nonunion Canadian employees are automatically enrolled in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan which includes a paid company match up to 6%, in addition to a company contribution equaling up to 7.25% of your base salary.Key Functions:Responsible for the daily operation of manufacturing equipment that produces engineered wood products.Perform regular Preventive Maintenance and clean-up on equipment.Total commitment to working safely and following all safety rules and regulations.Problem solve and troubleshoot equipment and issues on a regular basis.Involvement in ongoing process improvement in the work area.Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment to manage product flow.Perform quality checks and ensure production of a quality product.Complete shift paperwork and recordkeeping.Attending team meetings and regular training sessions.QualificationsHigh School graduation certificate or GEDCommitted to follow safe work policies, practices and procedures.Ability to work rotating shift schedules (12-hour shifts/night shifts/weekends)Strong trouble shooting, problem solving and communication skillsAbility to work within a team setting.Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs & skills.Ability to perform the job essential functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending.At least 1 year experience working in industrial/manufacturing/construction environments preferred.
