Job summary

Weyerhaeuser seeks a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for the Kenora TimberStrand facility in Kenora, Ontario. This role oversees maintenance and engineering, drives reliability, safety, and process improvements while managing budgets and coaching staff.

Relocation support is available, and a comprehensive benefits package plus annual incentives are offered. This exempt, full-time position emphasizes safety, operational excellence, and collaboration with regional engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in a maintenance leadership role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven commitment to safety and safety initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to effectively lead people and promote teamwork.
  • Good working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and PLC programming and/or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to develop and lead training activities.
  • Documented experience in root cause analysis and trouble shooting.
  • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Initiative to get things done with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with mill leadership, hourly associates and business leaders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites to review opportunities to exchange technology, innovations and best practices.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of working in an industrial environment, such as climbing stairs and working in extreme heat and cold.
  • Willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, which may include weekend and holiday support
  • Ability to physically perform the requirements of working in a 24/7 operating facility, to include working in extreme temperatures and to be ambulatory in an industrial environment with catwalks and uneven surfaces

  • Assist as needed with troubleshooting equipment mechanical and/or electrical issues and/or providing resources to team to resolve problems safely and efficiently
  • As necessary, own or contribute to other mill functions, such as safety or environmental initiatives

Weyerhaeuser is searching for a Maintenance and Engineering Manager. This position is part of the Engineered Wood Products (EWP) business and reports to the Mill Manager of the Kenora TimberStrand manufacturing facility. This position is located in Kenora, Ontario. This is a full-time, exempt position. The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is responsible for all maintenance associates and functions, including safety, maximizing machine productivity and uptime, as well as the condition and upkeep of the facility. He/She will be responsible for driving improvements and implementing changes to ensure maintenance processes are optimized to the highest level and solutions to issues are identified, cost effective, and implemented.

Compensation

This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $115,852 - $171,053 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
