Job summary

Calian ITCS is seeking an Intermediate Product Tester for a contract opportunity to work with a government client. You will collaborate with the software team to test features, design test cases, and contribute to automated scripts in Python, while also performing manual tests on C# WPF applications.

The role requires a 3–5 year QA background, secret clearance eligibility, and the ability to work on-site in Calgary 2–3 days/week in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance required; eligible to apply (10+ years living in Canada).
• Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada.
• English language proficiency.
• 3–5 years in software testing or QA.
• Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
• Hands-on Python test automation experience.
• Familiarity with C# and WPF is an asset.
• Experience developing test cases, plans, and reports.
• On-site in Calgary 2–3 days per week (hybrid).
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the software development team to perform feature- and product-level testing.
• Design, execute, and maintain test cases to verify requirements and ensure product quality.
• Contribute to development and execution of automated test scripts, primarily using Python.
• Perform manual and automated testing of C# applications with WPF.
• Document and track test results, issues, and defects with timely reporting.
• Work with developers and business analysts to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
• Participate in team reviews for requirements and design to provide test input.
• Support continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and frameworks.
