Job summary

10 Percent Recruiting Ltd. is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join Edmonton-based technology team. This role balances hands-on testing with leadership, coordinating testing across multiple initiatives to ensure defects are managed and quality standards are met.

Initially onsite for three months, the position transitions to a hybrid work arrangement, collaborating with stakeholders, developers, project teams, and other technical resources to deliver high-quality technology solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps (formerly Team Foundation Server), or similar platforms.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Proven ability to execute detailed testing while coordinating broader testing activities and priorities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and automated test cases, documenting results, evidence, and outcomes.
  • Validate end-to-end business processes, workflows, integrations, and system functionality.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify defects through resolution and retesting activities.
  • Prepare and maintain test data and ensure test environments are appropriately configured and available.
  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations to support high-quality releases.
  • Review business and technical requirements to ensure they are clearly defined and testable.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test scripts, and testing documentation.
  • Coordinate testing activities and assign work based on priorities, timelines, and team capacity.
  • Monitor testing progress and ensure testing deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Support release readiness efforts and participate in quality reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for defect management and testing-related activities.
  • Coordinate defect triage activities with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of QA standards, processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Identify testing risks and issues early and escape concerns when appropriate.
  • Prepare testing metrics, status updates, and reports for project teams and stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration between business and technical teams to support successful project outcomes.

The Position:

Our client is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join their Edmonton-based technology team. This role is responsible for supporting and advancing quality assurance practices while playing a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities across multiple initiatives.

The successful candidate will balance hands‑on testing responsibilities with leadership and coordination duties, helping ensure testing efforts are completed efficiently, defects are managed effectively, and quality standards are consistently met. Working closely with business stakeholders, developers, project teams, and other technical resources, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality technology solutions.

To support onboarding, training, and team integration, the successful candidate will work onsite during the first three months before transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement.

What You’ll Do:
