If you're passionate about fintech, innovation, and making a difference, Portfolio+ is the place to build your career.

Who you are

As a Product Owner, you are responsible for driving the development and implementation of new and existing functionality, ensuring solution align with business objectives and industry standards. You will take full ownership of your initiatives from gathering and refining requirements to overseeing testing and release, ensuring the highest quality deliverables. As part of the Product Management team, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to strategic initiatives, support critical product‑related tasks, and help drive the organization’s success by delivering solutions that empower Canadians in managing their day‑to‑day banking with our Canadian financial partners.

What you’ll do

Product Backlog – Epics and User Story Development: Prioritize and consistently groom your product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Define, refine, and prioritize Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance criteria to ensure the development team has clear, actionable tasks that align to the definition of done (DoD).

Collaborate with stakeholders and your development Squad to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and ensure that work assigned in Sprint aligns with the overall product vision, objectives, and priorities.

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear and consistent communication of product goals and progress. Progress is ideally communicated asynchronously via burndown charts and sprint demos. Gather and prioritize stakeholder requirements, feedback, and expectations, integrating them into the product backlog to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Governance – maintain oversight of sprints and initiatives in flight, communicating impediments (and your successes) to the governance board. Be an advocate for change management and continuous improvement.

Sprint Planning and Review: Lead and facilitate sprint planning meetings, ensuring the development team understand the highest priority items and has clear direction for the upcoming sprint, and ideally an idea of what is queued next. Looking over the horizon and can effectively communicate the north star to your pods. Review and assess sprint progress during sprint reviews, gathering feedback from the development team and stakeholders to adjust priorities and refine the product backlog as needed.

Product Launch and Sales/Marketing Support: Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to develop and execute comprehensive product launch plans, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and market strategies. Provide product expertise and support to sales and marketing teams, assist with the creation of marketing materials, sales enablement tools, and training sessions to effectively communicate product features and benefits.

Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear product requirements, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and compliance standards. Experience working with financial technology (FinTech) solutions, including digital banking, payments, lending, or core banking systems. Familiarity with software development practices and technologies. Demonstrated success utilizing Agile program management, estimation, and delivery methodologies. Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and the Microsoft 365 product suite. Strong business sense and the ability to align product decisions with overall company strategy. Understanding of applicable metrics that ensure product profitability and cost‑effectiveness. Deep understanding of customer behaviour and requirements to drive user‑centric product development. Demonstrated leadership in guiding and influencing cross‑functional teams without direct authority, fostering collaboration and alignment toward product goals. Experience in leading product development from concept to launch. Strong decision‑making skills and the ability to take ownership of product outcomes. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, customers, and end‑users. Skilled in facilitating meetings and workshops.
