Job summary

  • Validate interfaces, data conversions and system integrations.
  • Collaborate with operations, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
  • Support testing strategies including functional and UAT.
  • Provide feedback on usability, accuracy, and documentation.

Working under the direction of the FOPs Manager, Digital Product, the Product Owner is responsible for representing business needs and ensuring delivery of solutions that support pay processes, crew scheduling, tracking, and planning.

This role combines strong operational expertise with product ownership accountability. The Product Owner ensures that delivered capabilities align with business priorities, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements, while delivering measurable value to the organization.

This role is suited for a person who brings both deep domain expertise and the ability to lead product decisions. The Product Owner plays a critical role in ensuring practical, reliable, and high-value solutions that meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Prioritization

  • Own and manage the product backlog for Crew OpsMOD-related capabilities
  • Perform detailed data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy and integrity of pay data from across source and target systems of crew scheduling, tracking and planning
  • Lead file comparison and data verification exercises between legacy and replacement applications to identify discrepancies, gaps, and processing issues
  • Analyze datasets using Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data comparison techniques to support validation and decision making
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to validate business rules, investigate data anomalies, and support testing and operational analysis
  • Validate inbound and outbound interfaces, data conversions, and system integrations to ensure accurate information flow between applications
  • Act as the primary liaison between operations, business stakeholders, and delivery teams
  • Engage stakeholders across Crew Pay, Crew Scheduling, Tracking and Planning
  • Balance competing priorities to ensure timelines are met
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories
  • Define acceptance criteria and ensure solutions meet business expectations

Validation & Quality Assurance

  • Support testing strategy including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements and operational realities
  • Provide structured feedback to ensure usability, accuracy, and completeness
  • Review and validate user guides, training materials, and system documentation
  • Ensure content accurately reflects business processes and system
  • Significant experience in crew related departments: Pay, Scheduling, Planning environments (typically 3+ years preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, and large-scale data analysis
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database query tools for data validation, investigation, and reporting
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear, structured requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with crew systems (e.g., EmpCenter, RainMaker, Netline, Jeppesen, PBS or equivalent) is an asset
  • Ability to make decisions and manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
