Why this role is important?
What You’ll Do:
  • As the Product Owner, you will be a creative problem-solver passionate about Canadian health and delivering top-notch customer-facing applications. You will work closely with our Specialty Health Network and Digital Health teams to gather business requirements, define solutions, and facilitate communication.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Managing the product backlog through prioritization, grooming, writing user stories, and ensuring the development team remains unblocked and efficient.
  • Understanding user problems and translating them into clear technical specifications for development teams.
  • Assessing feature requests to eliminate non-essential features.
  • Conducting feedback sessions to prioritize features delivering maximum value.
  • Executing deliverables related to SHN's digital health strategy and participating in related meetings.
  • Supporting project-based work and contributing to solution design, ensuring strategic alignment with SHN’s vision and building a digital health playbook.
  • Engaging stakeholders to include diverse perspectives and voices.
  • Understanding and improving the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Developing and iterating on digital strategy, vision, and roadmap to support business P&L goals.
  • Running feature prioritization sessions and collaborating with design and development teams to bring features to market.
  • Measuring success metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Handling multiple tasks, including research and analysis of client, industry, and technical matters.
  • Working with stakeholders to streamline digital health strategies and solutions for better efficiency and experience.
  • Sharing best practices and supporting the spread of successful digital initiatives.
  • Collecting user feedback and translating findings into product development.
  • Promoting agile and product best practices and advocating for customer needs.
What you'll bring to this role:
  • Interest in digital trends and willingness to learn new tools.
  • Commitment to valuing diversity and working with diverse teams.
  • Curiosity about modern technology and its organizational benefits.
  • Relevant experience in consulting, professional services, or industry roles with strong communication skills.
  • Experience in technology and IT domains, including IT governance, architecture, agile development, and certifications like Scrum Master, PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of product management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions clearly to non-technical audiences.
