Homes Alive Pets is seeking a Product Merchandiser based in Edmonton. The role involves creating visually appealing displays, monitoring inventory, assisting guests, and ensuring merchandising standards across stores.
Occasional travel to Winnipeg and within the Edmonton area is required to support store operations and seasonal promotions. You will work closely with Marketing and Store Operations, learn customer behavior, and develop compelling product layouts.
This isn't your average pet store. You'll feel it when you walk through our door. It's more than beautifully-designed locations and friendly staff – it's a belief in a higher standard for pet care. Our stores are community hubs – somewhere to come and share an experience with your pet.
You'll immediately notice a refreshing shopping experience at Homes Alive because we take a brand-agnostic, knowledge-over-upselling approach. Rather than pushing a certain product or feeling pressured to meet sales quotas, our team's attention is solely focused on getting to know you and your pet and empowering you to make confident decisions.
Our mission is to add value to every life. When we say every life, we include guests and their pets. Employees and co-workers. Brand reps and vendors. Even our communities.
There is life all around us, and it is our mission to add value qualitatively and quantitatively. In the qualitative sense, it is our mission to elevate every life as important and worthwhile. In the quantitative sense, and in the context of our business, it is also our mission to add value, discounts, and a fair balance of price and quality for our guests. This is how we will make a positive impact in our communities and world.
Product Merchandiser
Merchandising Manager
Store Operations
Based in Edmonton; travel required to at least two Edmonton-area store locations, plus travel to Winnipeg at least one week per month. Travel may change as needed.
The Product Merchandiser is responsible for creating visually appealing product displays and layouts in the store’s shopping area. Working closely with the marketing and store operations team, their responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels and product popularity, helping guests, and merchandising shelves and displays while considering season promotions and customer patterns.
To achieve success as a Product Merchandiser, you should have a keen eye for design, an understanding of and desire to learn about customer behaviour, and the ability to create compelling product displays.
Each day as a Product Merchandiser will be dynamic and unique. A typical day starts with scoping out the warehouse to see if there have been any new products received that need to be put out. You will then do a walk through of the store and see if there are any areas that need improving, especially areas with lots of missing products. From there, you’ll determine your priority tasks and store areas to start with and begin planning to solve any identified needs or issues. Throughout the day you will interact with guests and help answer any questions they may have. At the end of the day, you will communicate with the managers on any major changes to a section and let them know if there are new products to watch out for.
