Some Of What You Will Do

The Product Manager, eCommerce, is responsible for defining the product strategy to transform the way our customers shop on Staples website(s). This individual will act as the voice-of-the-customer and lead the charge on prioritizing and balancing the business goals while delivering the best-in-class customer experience. This individual would define the product vision, and the implementation roadmap aimed to redesign the entire journey from how our customers discover to ordering online.

The Product Manager, eCommerce, is responsible for defining the product strategy to transform the way our customers shop on Staples website(s). This individual will act as the voice-of-the-customer and lead the charge on prioritizing and balancing the business goals while delivering the best-in-class customer experience. This individual would define the product vision, and the implementation roadmap aimed to redesign the entire journey from how our customers discover to ordering online.

This position focuses on building a robust, customer-first, data-driven product backlog and driving its delivery from conception to launch. This individual should be able to research new trends in the industry, deeply analyze the customer behavior trends from the data and continue to modernize and evolve our customers’ online shopping experience. While this individual would define ‘what’ the customer wants, they would also be responsible for driving the design strategy on ‘how’ to surface the right content and help the customer make the purchase decision.

This individual would partner with our team of engineers, UX designers, customer researchers, content strategists, data analysts, technology vendor partners and the key decision-makers across the organization to lead the execution of all product initiatives for their domain.

Specifically, You Will

  • Build a data-driven roadmap with product initiatives which will enhance the overall Staples customer shopping experience with a strong focus on the omni-channel capabilities.
  • Build product artefacts outlining the ideal future state, to-be journey maps, business cases and gain buy-in on the short to long term opportunities.
  • Lead the implementation of the initiatives working closely with the UX designers, analytics, engineering and ensure that the delivery is on-time and on-budget.
  • Provide routine and transparent product updates to executive level stakeholders via formal presentations and written communication.

Some Of What You Need

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent (MBA an asset).
  • Agile certification an asset.
  • Knowledge of Contentful and design systems, an asset.
  • Ability to navigate large organizations and develop strong business partner relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in working within cross-functional teams and effective project management and analytical/decision-making skills.
  • Experience with product road-mapping tools, open-source technologies, public/private cloud technologies.
  • 3+ years’ experience in product management, website redesign or a related field.
  • 5+ years of total work experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience at an eCommerce company.
  • Experience with both Agile and Scrum delivery practices.
