Job summary

Hitachi Rail Limited in Canada is offering a 16-month Product HSE Compliance Engineering Internship. The role supports engineering to ensure parts meet RoHS, REACH and other environmental requirements, with a hybrid work model and 40-hour weeks.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across procurement, design and manufacturing to standardize environmental requirements, generate compliance reports, and mentor newer interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Engineering degree with at least three years completed.
• Co-op student available for a 16-month term.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical/electronic components is beneficial.
• Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, TSCA 6(h), and surface treatments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Product HSE/compliance design processes with stakeholders.
• Analyze materials against environmental requirements and determine product compliance.
• Generate reports to show product compliance and areas of non-compliance.
• Document processes and mentor incoming interns.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to collect compliance documentation.
