Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. has partnered with this Designer and Manufacturer of Custom Engineered mechanical systems in their search to add the talents of an experienced Product Engineer to its engineering team. The Product Engineer will work from concept through to final production, creating innovative designs while collaborating closely with engineering, fabrication, project management, suppliers, and installation teams.
The Product Engineer will be responsible for developing new products, improving existing designs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives with a strong emphasis on manufacturability, structural integrity, installation efficiency, and long-term serviceability. Working extensively with SolidWorks, the Product Engineer will create detailed models, fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and complete engineering packages while ensuring designs meet applicable engineering standards and quality expectations. This role will also conduct design reviews, perform structural analysis using FEA tools, interpret architectural and structural drawings, coordinate with suppliers and installers, and participate in client and project review meetings throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.
Our ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent along with several years of product design experience within a manufacturing environment. Advanced SolidWorks proficiency is essential, including extensive experience with sheet metal design, weldments, structural members, fabrication processes, GD&T, revision control, and engineering documentation. Prior experience with structural calculations, aluminum extrusion systems, construction methods, CNC machining, laser cutting, welding, and architectural products would be considered valuable assets. Candidates holding a P.Eng. designation or the ability to provide engineering stamps are especially encouraged to apply.
Our Client's preferred Salary Target is $90 000 - $110 000.
