Job summary

McCormick Canada in London, Ontario is seeking a Product Development Technician (on-site) to support product development activities, including sample preparation, labeling, and labelling, while mixing, packing, labeling, arranging shipments and tracking samples. You will maintain fresh ingredient stock in the laboratory and assist in product evaluation.

Under supervision, you will help Product Developers with applications, produce finished products for internal and external evaluation, and

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in food science or related discipline
  • 1–2 years experience in food technology or food processing
  • Meticulous attention to small quantities and detail orientated
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good computer skills (SAP, Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of duties and prioritize effectively
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the job
  • Team oriented, flexible to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities

  • Support Product Development activities such as sample preparation and labelling
  • Mix, pack, label, arrange for shipment, and track samples as required

  • Aid senior PD staff in process applications as required
  • Under guidance assist with Sensory Evaluation sample preparation and data entry
  • Maintain sanitation and organization of the laboratory, following all safety policies and maintaining a clean and orderly work area
  • Perform other PD tasks as assigned by senior Product Development staff

Position Overview:

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $48,630-$71,302

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
