Job summary

McCormick Canada is seeking a QA analyst to perform rigorous testing of raw materials, in-process products and finished goods using in-house and AOAC methods. This contract role on the B Shift supports our quality systems and regulatory compliance.

You will identify areas of concern, conduct root cause analysis, and communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure product quality and safety. This position requires strong analytical skills and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in food industry.
  • Intermediate knowledge of PC software including Microsoft Office is essential.
  • SAP knowledge an asset.
  • Familiar with Quality Control systems, GLP, HACCP and GMP’s.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle heavy workloads with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime as required and flexibility to work other shifts as required.

Responsibilities

  • On a daily basis identifies areas of concern (salt, acid, colour, micro, improper mixing, etc.) and champions the process of conducting root cause analysis such that subsequent production is not compromised.
  • Communicates effectively with internal customers, other McCormick divisions, vendors and external customers when required.
  • Participates in sanitation audits and conducts allergen and sanitation validations when required.
  • Develops, maintains and executes best practices associated with conducting analytical tests on time, completing all tests, properly interpreting results, and releasing items in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Follows all GLP and GMP requirements.
  • Supports the execution of quality systems programs and management of the SQF programs for Food Safety and Quality.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education:
