Job description

About Body Energy Club

Body Energy Club (BEC) is a growing health and wellness retailer specializing in nutritional supplements, smoothies, and healthy food. Our BEC brand includes more than 120 natural health products across protein, sports nutrition, vitamins, minerals, and everyday wellness—and we are continuing to grow.

We are looking for a commercially minded, highly resourceful product leader to help develop the next generation of BEC products while continuously improving our existing portfolio.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves health and wellness products and enjoys turning ideas into results.

You will work directly with our Founder and CEO, executive team, manufacturers, regulatory professionals, and an experienced product consultant. You will be involved throughout the product journey:

Idea → Research → Formula → Samples → Costing → Regulatory/NPN → Packaging → Manufacturing → Training → Launch → Performance Analysis

This is not a traditional management position with a large team to delegate to. You must be comfortable moving between strategy and execution—whether that means researching a new ingredient, comparing formulas, updating a project tracker, testing samples, negotiating costs, or following up with a manufacturer.

One week, you may be researching the next electrolyte formula. The next, you could be reviewing protein samples, coordinating an NPN project, or creating a product‑training module for store employees.

What You’ll Do
Product innovation and development
  • Research emerging ingredients, categories, flavours, formats and consumer trends.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of new product ideas and portfolio improvements.
  • Benchmark BEC products against leading Canadian, U.S. and international brands.
  • Compare formulas, ingredients, dosages, claims, sizes, flavours, pricing and overall value.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, reformulations, extensions or improved positioning.
  • Create product briefs and work with manufacturers on formulas and specifications.
  • Coordinate samples, taste tests, quotes, minimum orders, and lead times.
  • Support packaging, artwork, and product launches.
  • Keep projects moving by identifying delays, following up, and finding solutions.
Regulatory and quality
  • Work with regulatory consultants and manufacturers on NPN applications and amendments.
  • Gather documentation and monitor outstanding regulatory requirements.
  • Review formulas, ingredients, labels, and proposed claims.
  • Help coordinate compliant packaging and labelling.
  • Maintain organized regulatory and product records.
  • Investigate quality concerns and work with partners through resolution.

You do not need to know every regulatory answer yourself. You do need practical familiarity with Canadian Natural Health Product requirements and the resourcefulness to find answers, involve the right experts, and follow through.

Commercial and portfolio performance
  • Monitor sales, units, growth, margins, product costs, inventory, pricing, and store performance.
  • Gather customer and employee feedback.
  • Identify strong performers, emerging opportunities, and underperforming products.
  • Recommend changes to formulas, packaging, pricing, positioning, education, or promotion.
  • Help determine when a product should be improved, repositioned, or discontinued.
  • Ensure that product decisions balance quality, customer demand, margin, and commercial potential.
Suppliers, costs and production
  • Build productive relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Request and compare pricing, minimum orders, and lead times.
  • Negotiate costs where appropriate.
  • Monitor raw‑material and manufacturing costs.
  • Identify margin and supply‑chain improvements without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate production schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Manage inventory forecasting by setting appropriate production quantities and reorder points based on demand, lead times, and MOQs.
Product education
  • Create clear, engaging product knowledge sheets, FAQs, and comparison guides.
  • Support training videos, modules, and educational presentations.
  • Develop key selling points and new‑product launch information.
  • Work with Operations and Marketing to make technical product information practical and useful for store teams.
Project ownership
  • Maintain organized quality documentation, including Certificates of Analysis, product specifications, stability/shelf‑life testing, and batch records. Work with manufacturers to ensure products meet quality standards and investigate and resolve any quality concerns
  • Document responsibilities, next steps, and outstanding items.
  • Follow up consistently without requiring reminders.
  • Flag risks and delays early.
  • Keep leadership informed and bring forward thoughtful recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects without losing sight of important details.
What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Three or more years of relevant experience in product development, supplements, consumer packaged goods, category management, purchasing, regulatory affairs, sourcing, or supply chain.
  • Experience with natural health products, nutritional supplements, wellness, food, or related consumer products.
  • Practical familiarity with Health Canada’s Natural Health Product regulations.
  • Experience with NPNs, regulatory submissions, product claims or NHP labelling.
  • Experience working with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • An understanding of product costing, pricing, and margins.
  • Strong spreadsheet, analytical, and project‑management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow‑through.

Most importantly, you are:

  • Passionate about health, wellness, and supplements.
  • Curious about products, consumers, and emerging trends.
  • Resourceful when you do not immediately know the answer.
  • Highly organized and comfortable with accountability.
  • Persistent about moving projects forward.
  • Able to think strategically while personally handling the details.
  • Commercially aware and focused on measurable results.
  • Open to feedback and motivated to keep learning.
What Success Looks Like

In this role:

  • BEC maintains a strong pipeline of relevant product opportunities.
  • Projects move forward with clear ownership and urgency.
  • Products remain competitive in quality, formula, price, and value.
  • Regulatory and manufacturing requirements are organized and actively managed.
  • Costs, margins, and product performance are reviewed consistently.
  • New products launch with effective education and positioning.
  • Store teams understand and confidently recommend BEC products.
  • Leadership has clear visibility into priorities, progress, and challenges.
Why Join Body Energy Club?

You will help shape an established portfolio of more than 120 BEC products while contributing directly to what comes next.

You will work closely with company leadership and gain exposure to formulation, regulation, manufacturing, sourcing, pricing, margins, inventory, marketing and sales. You will have the opportunity to introduce ideas, challenge existing approaches, and see products move from an initial conversation to something customers can purchase in our stores.

If you love health and wellness products, have high standards, and get satisfaction from making things happen, we would like to meet you.
